The 2001-2002 Southeast Middle School cheerleaders won several awards during camp this summer. CLINTON Southeast Middle School cheerleaders recently returned from the Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp on the Mississippi College campus. More than 300 cheerleaders participated in the four-day event.
The Southeast squad came home with several awards, including superior ratings during evaluations each night, a spirit stick at the end of each evening and the All-Superior trophy.
The squad placed second in cheer for the junior high division during final competition.
Travis Carey Headley graduated summa cum laude May 19 from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. He also earned a bachelor's degree from Bayla University in Waco, Texas, in 1996. He will be working for a Texas Supreme Court judge for a year, and then focus on corporate litigation with a major firm in San Antonio. Travis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus and Joan Headley of San Antonio, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Foch Headley of Livingston, Ala.
His wife, Michelle Bammel Headley, graduated cum laude May 11 from Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She works as a veterinarian in San Antonio. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bammel of Huntsville, Texas, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bammel of Houston, Texas.

HATTIESBURG Sandra Shelton, a tutor at Northeast Elementary School attended the Association Method workshop June 11 to 15 at the University of Southern Mississippi.
The program, sponsored by the DuBard School for Language Disorders, taught teachers to help children with severe language disorders, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, dyslexia or other communication disorders. It also taught them to help children learn to establish a code-breaking system for reading skills.
