Competition for annual Mississippi Broadcasters Association awards comes in a "real world" environment. Not only do you have to produce something of quality and then enter it in the competition, but your work product must be of a very high standard in order to successfully compete.
That's why the Gold awards captured by Meridian Community College's broadcast communications technology program and by MCC's promotions program are so impressive. MCC won for its weekly television program "@MCC," which is telecast on Comcast cable, and for an outstanding college promotion.
The competition included all of Mississippi's four-year institutions of higher learning and other community colleges. With its experienced faculty and staff sharing their talents with students in the broadcast communications program, MCC beat the competition by doing good work, as appropriately recognized by professionals in the broadcast business.
