And so it goes, the 2001 slowpitch softball season is upon us. It begins with journeys, tourneys and games starting this weekend.
The Southeast Lauderdale Lady Tigers will be putting on the Lady Tigers Classic Satuday at 1 p.m. It is sure to be a friendly rumble with Bay Springs and Wayne County.
The Meridian High Lady Cats and West Lauderdale Lady Knights will be taking a road trip up to battle in the New Hope Tourney on Saturday.
Northeast Lauderdale's Lady Trojans will be will be ready to rock in the Neshoba Tournament Friday.
Meanwhile, Clarkdale is at home against two opponents. The varsity Lady Bulldog teams plays Quitman at noon and Union at 2 p.m.
This year's gang of teams are all ready to go. It's way too early to make predictions as it promises to be an exciting year for Lauderdale county softball.
