Leah Michelle Buie of Meridian and Joshua Allen Todd of Collinsville were married Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Chisholm officiating.
Parents of the couple are Wayne and Lenita Buie of Meridian and DeWayne and Lisa Todd of Collinsville.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. William Bruner Maudene of Meridian and the late Jack Buie. She is the great-granddaughter of M.E. "Cutcher" Crawford of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Todd of Chunky, Amanda Stewart of Collinsville and the late Scott Stewart; Morgan Powell of Collinsville and the late Willie Lou Powell.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Cindy Barker, pianist; and Tiffany Coleman, soloist.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white satin dress with a tight fitting bodice. The dress featured a V-neckline with unique straps, a full skirt with a cathedral-length train. The skirt and train featured Battenburg lace.
Maid of honor was Rachel Robinson of Meridian, cousin of the bride. Other attendants were LeAnne Jackson of Meridian, Tiffany Griffith of Collinsville, sister of the bridegroom, and Holly Robinson of Meridian, cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Marla Robinson of Meridian, cousin of the bride.
Flower girls were Kaitlin Polk of Collinsville and Allison Trout of Meridian.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were W.A. Todd of Chunky, Brad Joyner and Bryan Griffith, both of Collinsville, Danny Todd Jr. of Chunky, Adam Vaughn and Jeffrey Murphy of Collinsville.
Alan Trout of Meridian was ring bearer.
Rice bag attendants were Marla Robinson, Kaitlin Polk and Allison Trout. Program attendant was Keri Todd.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Marcy Joyner, Brooke Joyner and Tera Robinson.
After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple resides in Collinsville.
Prior to her wedding, the bride was honored with several showers and brunches. They were hosted by her aunts, Laura Robinson, Nelda Buie, Linda Ozier, Karen Todd and Marcy Joyner and her mother-in-law, Lisa Todd.
