Local residents honored for achievements

Christi Swalm, community director of the March of Dimes, recently accepted a $1,000 check from Lynn Mudd of AMSouth Bank. The check was in addition to money the AMSouth Bank team raised for the Meridian WalkAmerica 2001 campaign.
Mary Cay Clark has been promoted to audit officer at Trustmark National Bank in Jackson.
Clark, a native of Chunky, graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor of accountancy degree and a masters of accountancy. She is a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor.
Clark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member of the Chunky Baptist Church.
Terry Collins has been promoted to vice president at Trustmark National Bank in Jackson. He is the recovery manager in the Special Assets Department.
Collins, a native of Newton, graduated from the University of Mississippi. He is a member of the Metropolitan Consumer Credit Association. He is married to the former Shannon Everhart; they have one child and attend Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl.
Barney Broach was recently named East Mississippi State Hospital's "Employee of the Quarter" at the monthly employee breakfast meeting.
Broach, a hospital employee since June 1997, currently works as a licensed practical nurse on the Acute Psychiatric Receiving Service.
Broach was presented with a $100 cash award provided by the East Mississippi State Hospital Friends Organization.
The Small Business Development Center at Meridian Community College is offering a free business seminar Monday. The seminar will be in Room 129 of the WEBB Center Building at MCC from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
Participants will learn about loans, grants, a business plan and how a small business can receive free money.
