MAGEE Services for Vera Rogers Stegall were held Wednesday at Harrisville Baptist Church. Burial was in Harrisville Cemetery with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stegall, 96, of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Beverly Health Care.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Buntyn of Meridian and Patsy Cobb of Cedar Grove, Tenn.; a brother, Herbert Neely of Harrisville; two sisters, Nell Murray of Sandford, Fla. and Betty Begman of Silver Springs, Md.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Glendon W. "Bill" Kennedy will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Mike Ragland officiating. Burial will be in Coldwater Cemetery.
Mr. Kennedy, 81, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a native and longtime resident of the Coldwater Community in Neshoba County.
He was a member of Coldwater Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a longtime Deacon. He was retired from Wells Lamont in Philadelphia.
Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 138 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 677 in Carthage. He was a 100 percent disabled veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Kennedy of Philadelphia; a daughter, Nancy Kennedy Forsyth of Cumming, Ga.; a son, William E. Kennedy of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Michael Kennedy, David Kennedy and Brian Waddell; three great-grandchildren, Whitney Waddell, Jacob Waddell and Ashley Kennedy; three sisters, Jean Schmidt of La Canada, Calif., Annie McDonald of Louisville and June Miller of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers, James Kennedy and Charles Kennedy, both of Philadelphia, and Tom Kennedy of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Nelson Kennedy in the late 70's.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Hancock, Joey Hancock, Steve Beason, Roy Roper, Johnnie Waddell, Danny Hutcherson and Willis White.

Services for William L. "Dub" Griffith will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. James Young and Mike Boles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Union with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Griffith, 76, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Riley Hospital. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a retired truck driver and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lane Griffith of Little Rock; two daughters, Pat Skinner and her husband, M.L., of Little Rock and Linda "Peadrow" Mabry and her husband, Leland, of Meridian; two sons, Billy Wayne Griffith and his wife, Mary Ann, of Meridian and Ricky Griffith and his wife, Sandi, of Little Rock; three sisters, Evelyn Joyner and her husband, Luther, and Audrey Singleton and her husband, Cecil, all of Gladewater, Texas, and Lola Mae Waldrop of Winnsboro, Texas; seven grandchildren, Phillip Griffith, Robert Northcutt III, April Skinner Dean, Leslie Combs, Ricky Wayne Griffith Stevens, Bryan Griffith and Summer Michelle Griffith; his aunt, Mae Smith of Meridian; a uncle, Lee Lovett of Living, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four grandchildren, Lisa Michelle Skinner, Curtis Wayne Skinner, Pamela Kay Northcutt and Annica Kay Northcutt.
The family requests memorials be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Griffith, Bryan Griffith, Ricky Griffith Stevens, Matt Dean, Tracy Mayfield, Robert Northcutt III, J.P. Hambrick and Grady Yeager.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
VIRGINIA RAYMOND
RAINSVILLE, Ala. Services for Virginia Raymond will be held Friday at noon at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Mt. View Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Raymond, 78, of Rainsville, formerly of Frazier Grove, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Carraway Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Raymond and his wife, Martie, of Rainsville; a sister, Claudine Frazier of Meridian; sisters-in-law, Annie Ruth Byrd and Susie Byrd, both of Meridian; three grandchildren, several nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

BAY SPRINGS Services for Willie Mae Thompson will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Little Mountain Missionary Baptist Church in Union. Burial will be in Little Mountain Cemetery with Whitehead and Son's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thompson, 88, of Union, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include six children, 34 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Family hour will be today from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. Visitation will also be held beginning at noon on Friday prior to the service.
MARCUS JERROD BLALOCK SR.
NEWTON Services for Marcus Jerrod Blalock Sr. will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at West Mt. Moriah Church in Meridian. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Chunky with Progressive Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blalock, 29, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, in Dallas, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Jennetta Hossley and his stepfather, John Hossley, both of Meridian; his father, Jerald Edwards of Joliet, Ill.; two children, Deonna Blalock and Marcus Blalock Jr. of Newton; two brothers, Matt Blalock and Demetrius Blalock; a sister, Tiffany Cole; four other sisters and two brothers of Joliet; his grandmothers, Mary Hogan and Barbara Hall; and several other relatives and friends.

Ms. Hopson, 29, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Bonnie J. Lee of Toomsuba; two daughters, Sharika R. Hopson and Janika Hopson, three sons, DeMarcus Hopson, Desmon Ramon Hopson and Laraydare Campbell, all of Meridian; three sisters, Saprina Lee of Meridian, Maria Lee and Barbara Lee, both of Toomsuba; two brothers, Terence Lee of Meridian and Harvey Lee of Tupelo.
