Mr. and Mrs. James A. Rush Sr. of Meridian
50th anniversary
celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 10, 2001. They were married in 1951 in Langley Park, Md. The couple has four children, James A. Rush Jr., June Clayton and Jack Rush, all of Meridian, and Janis Peel of Friendswood, Texas; and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Rush is the former Julia Brown of Langley Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Meador Jr.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Meador Jr., their children and grandchildren will host a reception on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001. The event will be held at Springhill United Methodist Church beginning at 2:30 p.m. The couple was married on Aug. 31, 1951, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Meridian. They have three children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl John Olander Sr. recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. They were married on Aug. 9, 1951, in Strong. In honor of this celebration, a reception was held on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. W. Gary Wilkinson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl John Olander Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Olander, Mr. and Mrs. J. Tucker Olander, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas S. Olander and their 12 grandchildren hosted the reception.
