Meridian police are searching for a gunman they say broke a woman's car window to rob her of her purse and a bank bag.
The armed robbery occurred around 9:45 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of O'Charley's restaurant near Bonita Lakes Mall.
Lt. Wade Johnson, police spokesman, said the O'Charley's employee had exited the building and was approached by the suspect after she had entered her car and locked the door.
The woman complied, giving the suspect a bank bag and a purse, Johnson said. The man fled the parking lot on foot.
Police initiated a saturation patrol of the area in an attempt to locate the suspect, Johnson said.
The man is described as black, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 250 pounds and wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and bandanna.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for the gunmen who robbed a Super 8 Motel guest as he returned to his room Saturday night. That robbery occurred shortly before midnight at the motel on Highway 11/80 East.
The suspects fled on foot with the victim's wallet, Johnson said. One suspect is described as a black man wearing a green jersey-style shirt; the other is described as a black man wearing a white T-shirt.
