A Meridian man was killed early Saturday when he apparently walked into the path of a car on Highway 19 North, about three miles north of the city limits, according to authorities.
Lauderdale County Medical Examiner Marl Cobler said Lester Ramsey, 45, of 4311 5th St., was killed about 3:50 a.m.
Ramsey was wearing all dark clothing, Cobler said.
The incident was investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, but attempts were unsuccessful Saturday to reach Troop H public relations officer Sgt. Ronnie Carter for additional information.
