Marie Susan Williams and Adam McKenzie Stuart, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Central United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Charles W. Nicholson Sr. and Robert H. Null officiating.
Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Edward Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Wayne Stuart, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Moore Blackwell of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wellington Williams of Stone Mountain, Ga.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Isham Scruggs of Winona, Mrs. William Thomas Stuart of Hattiesburg and the late William Thomas Stuart.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Barry Germany, pianist; Ronald Widener, trumpeter; Gregg Stuart and Karen Turner, soloists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an sheath style gown accented with a lace overlay which extended into a chapel-length train. The floral lace overlay was embellished with hand beaded pearls and sequins. The long sleeves were touched with the same beaded design and enhanced the slight sweetheart neckline. Satin covered buttons down the back of the gown added interest.
Her two-layer veil of imported illusion fell from an headband adorned with pearls and crystals into a blusher then to elbow-length. A finished edge neatly trimmed off the veil.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white, ivory and peach roses with cascading ivy.
Maid of honor was Charlotte Elizabeth Williams of Meridian, sister of the bride. Other attendants were Mary Elizabeth Daniel and Katherine Anne Dodd, both of Starkville, Angela Entrekin Maxwell of Atlanta, Jessica Helen Chrrie Parker of Columbus, Laura Leigh Peavy of Meridian and Nicole Marie Piersma of Nashville, Tenn.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Bobby Lee Eller of Columbus, Paul Gunnis Hill, James Gregory Lewis II, Charles Todd Vick, Christopher Edward Williams and Paul Wellington Williams, both brothers of the bride, all of Meridian, Alton Wayne Stuart Jr. of Copperas Cove, Texas, brother of the bridegroom, and Gregory Scott Stuart of Austin, Texas, brother of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Corey Matthew Ford and William Kintzing Hughes, both of Meridian, and James Michael Holman of Starkville.
Program attendants were Layken Elizabeth Gibbs, Sarah Margaret Huff, Sunny Caliste Rush and Mary Lela Valentine.
A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Elizabeth Diane Entrekin, Emily Rebecca Entrekin and Bobbie Diane Null.
The couple resides in Meridian.
