Jennifer Renee Partridge and Jonathan Parrish Taylor of Meridian were united in marriage on Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Northcrest Baptist Church. Dr. Malcolm Lewis officiated the candlelight ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Bunky and Dianne Partridge and Guy and B.J. Taylor, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Anne Salter and Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Partridge Sr., all of Meridian, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Parrish of Parrish, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Winston Taylor of Bradenton, Fla.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Missy Davis, organist; Kris Kidd, pianist; Emilia Massengale, harpist and cellist; Shawn Partridge, trumpeter and cousin of the bride; Sue Shoffiett, flutist; and Shihona Taku, violinist.
Soloists were Robby Hales and Lisa Steverson, cousin of the bridegroom.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of imported Japanese matte bridal satin. The jeweled open neckline was accented with pearls and Austrian crystals. The bodice was adorned with Venise lace, embroidered pearls and crystals which dropped into a princess silhouette ballgown. The hemline was beaded cutwork which swept to the attached cathedral-length train, adorned by pearl rosettes. She carried an cascading bouquet of white roses and calla lilies, adorned with ivy.
The bride designed her headpiece of pearls and Austrian crystals with two layers of elbow-length illusion. A third came to rest gently on the gowns cathedral-length train hemline.
Matrons of honor were the mother of the bride and Shannon Fields Price of Baton Rouge, La. Junior maid of honor was Angelia Jamison Partridge of Meridian, sister of the bride.
Other attendants were Jennifer O'Brian Boykin, Jennifer Beeland Ezell and Barbra King Gerster, all of Meridian, Sarah Helen Donaway of Lynn Haven, Fla., Angela Kyle Keenan of Enterprise, Amanda Thompson Martin of Clinton and Darlene Rawson Threatt of Starkville.
Flower girls were Amber Denna King and Samantha Raven King, both of Ingleside, Texas.
The father of the bridegroom and Mitchell Aaron Taylor of Meridian, brother of the bridegroom, served as best men.
Groomsmen and ushers were William Johnson Bowlin and Robert Walter Threatt, both of Starkville, William Charles Friedenreich III of Nashville, Tenn., David Christopher King of Ingleside, Texas, Bryan Edward Kyle of Enterprise, Michael Wayne Smith of Birmingham, Ala. and Scott George Williford of Brandon.
Ring bearer was Timothy Dalton Smith of Rose Hill.
A reception was held at Meridian Little Theatre following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Apryl Allison, Melissa Harrison, Suzanne Catlett, Kristen Partridge, Rachel Donaway and Loretta Pruitt.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Briarwood Country Club. Entertainment was provided by the Carey Smith jazz trio. The evening was enhanced by the many guests and family members toasting the couple with wishes of luck, love and happiness.
After a honeymoon in Nassau, Bahamas, the couple resides in Birmingham.
Prior to the wedding, the couple were feted with several showers. A kitchen shower was hosted by Marlynn Partridge, Donna Allison and Jeri Partridge. A couple shower was hosted by C.B. and Robby Hales. A miscellaneous shower was hosted by Jennifer Ezell, Suzanne Catlett and Carolyn Beeland. A bachelorette party was held in New Orleans and hosted by Shannon Price. A miscellaneous shower was hosted by Pam McKee and Janice Weaver. Jennifer Ezell hosted a honeymoon shower.
On the morning of the wedding, a luncheon was held at D.T. Grinders honoring the bridal party and family members. It was hosted by the bride and her mother.
