Sara Gardner and Fredie Carmichael Jr., both of Meridian, were married Saturday, July 21, 2001, New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Swartzfager III of Hattiesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Gardner and Sen. and Mrs. Videt Carmichael, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. James E. Robinson and Mrs. John C. Gardner.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs. William F. Carmichael and Virgie Smith.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Michael Gibson and Beverly Brewer, vocalists; and Kristin Mauritz, soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Jonathan Gardner. She wore a strapless gown enhanced with a fully beaded bodice. A full tulle skirt trimmed with a beaded border, along the hemline, complemented the gown. Her chapel-length veil was held by a beaded tiara. She carried a hand-tied posey of tangerine, mango and yellow roses.
Matron of honor was Kaycee Gibson of Meridian, sister of the bridegroom.
Other attendants are Chelsea Robinson and Tiffany Robinson, both of Memphis, Tenn. Victoria Robinson of Memphis was flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Ushers were Sean Covich and Drew Dabbs, both of Meridian. Landon Gibson of Meridian, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
Program attendants were Jordan Robinson and Christian Carmichael.
A reception was held at the church's Family Life Center following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Seaside, Fla., the couple resides in Meridian.
