Parker aces Lakeview hole

Shane Parker made a hole-in-one at Lakeview Golf Course this past Saturday. Parker aced the par-3, 172-yard No. 7 hole with a 5-iron.
Witnesses to the shot were Henderson Ford, Al Willis, Larry Webb, and Jim Parker.
Quitman to host men's seniors: Quitman Country Club will hold a men's senior golf tournament (age 55 and older) on Oct. 16.
Entry fee is $70 per team which includes lunch. Registration will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. with tee time being 9 a.m.
The format is a 27-hole, two-person scramble.
Weather permitting, the new nine holes at QCC will be open.

Just around the corner: The sixth-annual NAMI Mississippi tournament is slated for Thursday at Ponta Creek Golf Course at NAS Meridian. Entry fee for the four-man scramble is $50 per person. For more information, call 601-679-2526 or 601-679-2129.
Proceeds benefit NAMI Mississippi, the state's voice on mental illness.
The second-annual Clarke County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will be held on Oct. 20 at Quitman Country Club. The four-person scramble has tee times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Registrations will be held at 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Registrations will be limited to the first 36 paid teams. Beaver Creek Golf Course at Newton will host a night ball tournament Saturday.
Decatur Country Club will host a Jack &Jill Tournament on Sunday.
