Clarkdale completes unbeaten league run

Clarkdale completed an unbeaten run to the Division 3-2A softball title by beating arch-rival Enterprise 9-2 on Tuesday night.
The win improves Clarkdale to 6-0 in division play and 14-8 overall. Clarkdale will host St. Andrews in a first round Class 2A best of three series next Tuesday. Enterprise, the division runner-up, must hit the road.
Clarkdale broke loose from a 3-2 game by scoring three runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth. Enterprise scored both of its runs in the second.
Leading Clarkdale at the plate was Megan Potate and Jordan Orr. Potate went 4-for-4 while Orr banged two doubles to account for two of her three hits.
Also helting two hits were Sabrina Woodall (2-for-3), Savanah Satcher (2-for-3), Ashley Satcher (2-for-4) and Brandy Lewis (2-for-3, 2B).
Enterprise was paced by Morgan Robinson's three hits. Ashton Smith, Charley Speed and Chasity Stingley all had two hits.
Emily Howard was the winning pitcher for Clarkdale while Ashton Shirley took the loss for Enterprise.
Clarkdale will round its regular season on Thursday when they travel to Southeast Lauderdale.
