Suspect in custody minutes after armed robbery

Meridian police nabbed a suspected armed robber early today only minutes after the pre-dawn robbery of a local convenience store.
Lt. Wade Johnson, MPD spokesman, said Tyrone Stringfellow, 36, 3704 Paulding St. was apprehended by patrol officers about 10 to 15 minutes after the 1:15 a.m. robbery of an Amoco convenience store on 22nd Avenue South. Stringfellow was charged today and a $25,000 bond was set. He was transferred to the Lauderdale County Detention Facility.
Johnson said a suspect entered the convenience store, told the cashier he was armed and demanded money.
