Agents of the East Mississippi Drug Task Force on Friday continued their sweep of illegal drug sales and possessions, the result of a six-month undercover operation.
Agents made an initial 17 arrests Wednesday and two more people were taken into custody on Thursday, including Tracie Parker, 28, of Meadowbrook Apartments, Building 2, No. 1, and Sean Boykin, 31, of 4212 Royal Road.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said as many as 20 additional arrests are expected.
Parker, who was charged with two counts of sale of marijuana, over one ounce, remained in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility on Friday. Boykin was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released Thursday on a $500 bond.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said drug agents, headed by Maj. Steve Spears, began arresting suspects shortly after noon on Wednesday. When the initial 17 people were arrested, Sollie said two more people were on investigative hold.
Sgt. Michael Street of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the Thursday arrests resulted from the undercover operation.
Sollie said charges stem from possession and sales of cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana. Most of the cases were based on sales to undercover agents, he said.
