QUITMAN Graveside services for George Preston Beard Jr. will be held today at 11 a.m. at Andrews Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Beard, 75, of Pensacola, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, in Pensacola. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a sister, Faye Reid of Daleville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Beard Sr. and Maude A. Adams.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Ida Mae Copeland will be held today at 4 p.m. at Bond Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Copeland, 85, of DeKalb, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise Barefield and her husband, Hershel, and a grandson, Michael Barefield, all of DeKalb; two sisters, Annie Ruth Shackelford and Edna Stokes, both of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawson Copeland.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Lois Turner Stafford will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grace Chapel Assembly of God with the Rev. Billy Crow officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stafford, 63, of Gilbertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Barber Stafford of Gilbertown; three sons, James Ford and Billy Joe Ford, both of Needham, and Michael Blackmon of Pleasant Hill; three daughters, Annie Lou Sager of Pennington, Gloria Ann Abston and Lisa Lee, both of Needham; three brothers, Willie Roy Turner of Butler, Edward Earl Turner and Billie Rae Turner, both of Gilbertown; two sisters, Diane Clark of Gilbertown and Lorene Doggett of Toxey; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today beginning at 2 p.m. at the church.

Services for Earl R. Liedtke will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sephus Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Liedtke, 57, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Liedtke Kelly and Melissa Liedtke, and a son, Matthew Liedtke, all of Meridian; three brothers, Don Liedtke, Gary Liedtke and Jeff Friend; two sisters, Vickie Liedtke and Debbie Meyer; and a grandson, Brandon Arkuszeski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Liedtke.
Pallbearers will be members of the volunteer fire department.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfert Castaing and her parents, James and Carrie Dean.

Services for George Ray "Fred" Parnell will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Burks officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parnell, 61, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include four sons, Henry Armstrong and his wife, Barbara, Fredrick Morris, Derrick Morris and his wife Barbara, and Tony Morris and his wife, Stephanie; three daughters, Mary Neely and her husband, Harold, Nancy Westerfield and her husband, Mike, and Jacqueline Johnson and her husband, Terry; his mother, Annie Griffin; a sister, Martha Griffin; three brothers, Howard Griffin, Charles Griffin and David Griffin, all of Meridian; and 16 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
