DEKALB Services for Dorothy Helen Cockrell will be held today at 11 a.m. at Scooba Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Scooba. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Cockrell, 63, of Scooba, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in DeKalb.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas Griggs of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Janie Pigott of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Howard and Virginia Hill.

BUTLER, Ala. Graveside services for Beatrice "Bea" Moore will be held today at 1 p.m. at Butler City Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Moore, of Huntsville, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in Huntsville.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy B. Clark of Huntsville; two sisters, Mary Jane Smith of Pascagoula and Mary Ellen White of Memphis; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller, of Meridian, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include four daughters, Pat Bird of Salt Lake City, Utah, Joyce Miller and Carol Richards, both of Meridian, and Linda Yates; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Royce Moore will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel, with the Revs. Mark Gill and Dudley Winstead officiating. Burial will be in Pearl Hill Cemetery in Leake County.
Mr. Moore, 68, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Audrie Moore of Philadelphia; two daughters, Sue Curry of Philadelphia and Shelia Butler of Louisville; two sisters, Pearl Morrow and Lula Breazeale, both of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, seven step-children, 12 step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Sam Webb will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba with the Rev. Reid Vaughan officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Webb, 65, of Cuba, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Hill Hospital in York.
Survivors include a brother, Billy Webb of Cuba; and a sister, Virginia McCracken of Mobile.
MELBA NEAL PALMER SPARKMAN
Services for Melba Neal Palmer Sparkman will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at DeKalb United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Russell and Lannis May officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in DeKalb. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sparkman, 80, of Jackson, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at Whispering Pines Hospice. She was born in the Cleveland Community of Kemper County to Willie Lee and Annie Warren Neal. Most of her life was spent in the DeKalb area.
Mrs. Sparkman was very active and held many positions in her church, DeKalb Methodist, and community service organizations including the Civic League.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie G. Sparkman of DeKalb; two daughters, Kay Couch and her husband, John, of Jackson and Carolyn Long of Okolona; a son, Eddie Al Sparkman and his wife, Cheryl, of Scooba; six grandchildren, Chip Long, Angie Whitlock, Chris and Kevin Couch and Aland Jason Sparkman; six great-grandchildren, Austin and Sydney Whitlock, Jordan, Eron, Jack and Chase Sparkman; three sisters, Paula Mae Mitchell of DeKalb, Ree Russell and Bobbie Parker, both of Meridian; three brothers, Earl Neal of Decatur, Steve and Doyle Neal of Meridian; 11 nephews and 12 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Gully Palmer; two sisters, Lutie Adams and Cleve Lee Galyean; and two brothers, Lavelle and Hester Neal.
The family requests memorials be made to DeKalb United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Mitchell Walters will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Franklin McLelland and Denton Sumrall officiating. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
Mr. Walters, 94, of Starkville, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at Oktibbeha County Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Mickey Walters of Meridian; three daughters, Imelda Besh and her husband, Ted, of Slidell, La., Greta Bryan and her husband, Dolph, and Maureen Gibson, all of Starkville; a sister, Ida Mae Sumrall of Meridian; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
