Leigh Ann McDonald and Stacy Warren Cummings were married Saturday, Sept. 29. 2001, at First Baptist Church of Butler, Ala., the Rev. Daniel Reese Powell officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Willard Swank McDonald of Butler and Mr. and Mrs. George Lavern Cummings of Needham, Ala.
Nuptial music was provided by Nadine Broadhead Richardson, organist; Frances Ellis Powell, pianist; and Ashley Davis and Monica Moore, soloists.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a gown of natural silk featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and short cap sleeves. The princess bodice featured three bands of silk-satin banding and the back of the dress closed with tiny covered buttons and three flat silk bows. Her chapel-length veil of Parisian tulle, edged with silk-satin ribbon, fell from a pearl comb. She carried an arm bouquet of white calla lilies.
Matron of honor was Leanne Littlepage McDonald of Butler, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Utsey Miller of Butler, Lela Morgan Snead of Columbus, Ga., Mary Snellgrove Kirkland of Montgomery, Heidi Martinson Cummings, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Carrie Lee Spurlock Gardner, Kimberly Nabors Wideman and Shannon Vincent Grant, all of Birmingham.
Flower girl was Rachael Roberts Moss of New Orleans. Ringbearer was John Davis Roberts of Meridian.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Gilmer George Cummings of Waterloo, Iowa and Barton Lavern Cummings of Birmingham, brothers of the bridegroom, Garrett Barton Cummings of Birmingham, cousin of the bridegroom and Terry Cummings of Needham, cousins of the bridegroom, Willard Evan McDonald of Butler, brother of the bride, Bryan Stacy Giles of Birmingham and Wade Kennedy Roberts of Meridian.
Ushers were Timothy Whitted Dukes of Memphis, Clatis Green Tew Jr. and John Lee McPhearson Jr. of Butler and Michael Brian Hawkins of Birmingham.
Attending the bridal register at the wedding were Heidi Buckley Nettles and Kerri Williams. Distributing rice bags to the guests at the reception was Ann Claire Cummings, cousin of the bridegroom.
The parents of the bride hosted a reception at The Choctaw Country Club following the ceremony.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bridegroom's parents, was held at Ezell's Fish Camp in Lavaca, Ala.
After a wedding trip to San Francisco, the couple resides in Fairhope, Ala.
