Sharon Rae Church of Meridian and Christopher James Keene of Collinsville were married Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ruffin officiating.
Parents of the couple are Ray Church and Teresa Church of Meridian and Kaye Mayatt of Collinsville.
Grandparents of the bride are Charles Lowery of Russell and the late Dorothy Lowery, and George and Ruth Church of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Zimmerman.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Lori McMullen, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal two-tone gown of ivory platinum matte satin. The spaghetti strap bodice featured a fitted Basque waistline and was adorned with Alencon lace and pearls. The semi-full skirt fell into a sweep train.
To complete the ensemble the bride wore a two-tiered veil trimmed in edge cording attached to a headpiece of flowers and pearls.
Matron of honor was Jennifer Wilson of Birmingham. Jamie Elam of Meridian served as best man.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Orange Beach, Ala., the couple resides in Collinsville.
