Marshall holds on to win in overtime

Winston Academy lost to Marshall 27-26 in overtime Friday night.
Jonathan Wood had a 12 -yard run on the opening minutes of the game to put Marshal on the board first.
Winston Academy answered with a 6-yard Scott Patterson touchdown run.
Winston came alive in the fourth quarter scoring on a 3 -yard Scott Patterson run.
The PAT was no good. Patterson helped take Winston Academy into overtime with another 3-yard touchdown run. The Jay McMillian kick was good.
Both Winston Academy and Marshall had 1-yard touchdown runs in overtime. Scott Patterson for Marshall and Seth Adams for Winston.
The Winston PAT failed making the final score 26-27.
The leading rusher for Winston was Scott Patterson. Patterson had 106 yard for 21 carries.
Seth Adams lead Marshall in yardage with 63 yard for 12 carries.

Wayne Academy (11-1 ) faced a 10-2 West Memphis Christian team winning 32-6 in prep playoffs Friday night.
Wayne Academy placed its first points on the board with a 18-yard run by Jacob Ferguson.
The PAT by Jaret Duval was good. The score was 7-0 going into the locker rooms at half.
Wayne Academy came out strong in the second half with a 30-yard touchdown run by Cory Cochran. The point after failed.
Wayne Academy scored again on a Matt Brown 6- yard touchdown run. The two point conversion failed.
West Memphis answered with a 65-yard touchdown catch to Ben Edelmen. The point after failed.
Wayne would continue to control the game. Wayne Academy scored on a 10-yard Matt Brown run. The point after failed.
Cory Cochran scored the final points on a 23-yard run making the final score 32-6 with Wayne Academy in the lead.a
