MCC sweeps Coahoma
Meridian Community College took home a two game win Saturday from Coahoma.
The Lady Eagles beat Coahoma by a whopping 86-49. They improved their overall record to 7-0.
Leading scorers for the Lady Eagles were Genice Terry with 19 points, Ericka Starkes with 11, and Cantea Brown with 11 points.
The men took home a close 79-75 win over Coahoma improving their overall record to 5-1.
Leading scorers for the Eagles were Sammie Cole with 37 points, Robert Ivy with 13, and Micheal Monroe with eight points.
The Lady Eagles will be in action again Saturday with a road trip to Southwest Tennessee.
The Eagles will be on the road to Bevill State Tuesday.
Wildcats drop two in tourney
The Meridian High Boys Soccer Team lost two games this weekend in the Northwest Rankin Tournament.
The Wildcats lost 1-0 to Starkville on Friday and 2-0 to Columbus Saturday.
The Wildcats' overall record stands at 0-5 for the season. They will be in action again Tuesday in a home game versus Northeast Lauderdale.
