WAYNESBORO The game plan at the half was a simple one for the Wayne Academy Jaguars.
The Jaguars executed that plan to perfection and rallied from a 7-0 halftime deficit to take a bruising 14-7 win over visiting DeSoto School to win the MPSA North State Class A Championship on Friday night.
Wayne will now move on to play for the state title in Clinton Thursday at 1 p.m.
Wayne picked off three Matt Manning passes in the fourth quarter to keep the Thunderbirds pinned down deep in their territory and seal the victory.
Two of those passes were picked off by Jacob Ferguson, who now has seven on the season, while the third was nabbed by Matt Brown.
DeSoto only managed one first down in the second half and just five for the game. The Thunderbirds were held to just 68 yards of total offense on the night.

Brown, a junior running back/linebacker said the Jags just got refocused at halftime.
Boszor said the Thunderbirds wanted to run the ball, so his team's job was to take that option away.
