Heather Phillips of Meridian and Kevin Hicks of Rose Hill were married Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Frazier Grove Church of God with the Rev. Fred Frazier officiating.
Parents of the couple are Nancy L. Phillips and the late Billie G. Phillips, and Sue and Irvin Cliff Hicks Jr.
Grandparents of the bride are Pauline Espey and the late Marvette Espey, and the late Hilton and Freddie Phillips.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Minnie Hicks and the late Irvin Cliff Hicks, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harman Ezell.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Jean Herrington, pianist; Bliss Savell, flutist; Rhea Espey, Tommy Espey, Hubert Frazier and Eric Herrington, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother. She wore an A-line gown enhanced with beaded spaghetti straps. Beads also edged the neckline of the gown. A beaded flower pattern was scattered throughout the gown and chapel-length train. Her waist-length veil was held by a headband of roses. She carried a dozen white roses pulled together with ribbon.
Maid of honor was Paula Payne of Meridian. Other attendants were Melinda Woods and Melissa Mathis, both of Meridian, and Casey Hicks of Rose Hill. Junior bridesmaid was Amanda Hicks of Rose Hill. Adeline Ford of Meridian served as flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Alan Thomas and Joey Oliver, both of Meridian, Scott Dotson and Heath McLemore, both of Rose Hill. Ushers were Clint Dotson and Dale Reynolds of Rose Hill.
Kyle Parker served as ring bearer. Program attendants were Ally and Meagan Harper.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony. Assisting were Willie and Carol Greer, Minnie Bryan, Tiffanie Roberts, Vivian Fulton, Jean Frazier, Jean and Tara Herrington, Clarice Rasco, Carol Haskins, Mary Ann Stevens and Donna Brezeale.
After a honeymoon in Townsend, Tenn., the couple resides in Meridian.
