Shop With a Cop' begins
fund-raising for children
The Meridian Police Benevolent Association has began its fund-raising for "Christmas With a Cop" program.
Santa and B-93 "The Buzz" radio personality Art Matthews will be at Dumont Plaza Monday through Thursday, collecting donations for the "Christmas With a Cop" program. Hot chocolate will be available. Stop by to visit with Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas while helping other children have a wonderful Christmas by giving to the program.
Kemper County hosts parade
The Kemper County Chamber of Commerce will host this year's Christmas parade "God Bless America" on Monday. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. in downtown DeKalb. Floats will compete in three categories: civic, commercial and non-commercial.

Northeast Middle School
sponsors silent auction
The Northeast Middle School PTSO will sponsor a silent auction Tuesday at 6 p.m. followed by a PTSO meeting at 7 p.m.
Meet the Trojans at the meeting. Funds will benefit the PTSO organization at the school.

depression workshop
Offered at no charge, the workshop will meet Thursday from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., in the East Mississippi Electric Power Association auditorium.
The featured speakers will be adult therapists Marcia McElroy and Ean Young.
