Thunder In The Barn set for today

The second annual Thunder In The Barn will be held tonight at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center near Bonita Lakes in Meridian.
The racing action is set to start at 6., with admission being $6 for adults and kids 12-and-under getting in for free.
More than 140 go-kart drivers from several Southern states are taking part in the event, which has competitors vying for over $8,000 in cash prizes.
The races are broken up into classes that are determined by weight and age of the driver and their kart.

Local drivers to look for in tonight's races include locals Tyler Creel, who will be racing in the Rookie Purple heat, Amanda Rawson in the Blue Rookie heat, Chris Hayes in the Stock Light division, and Anthony Massey in the Stock Medium.
Troy Roberts and Bill Moffitt always have a good battle in the Stock Heavy And Steven Snow will be representing Meridian in the Champs race.
The event drew a crowd of over 1,500 spectators last September and promoter Randy Rawson looks to increase this year.
Thunder in the Barn is a product of Rawson Racing and Lauderdale County Agri Center.
The qualifying will start today at 2 p.m. for all divisions. Tickets have been distributed to over 2,500 students in the local school district.
