County supervisors mulled over several proposed redistricting maps for nearly three hours Monday afternoon but failed to make any final decisions.
Supervisors redraw district lines every 10 years to reflect population shifts indicated by the census. The goal is to keep roughly the same number of people in each district.
The problem, Hitt said, is with districts 2, 4 and 5.
District 4 Supervisor Q.V. Sykes said District 5, represented by Ray Boswell, presents problems.
Supervisors said they will take another stab at drawing new lines after Thursday's work session.
