Kelli Suzanne Roberts of Gilbertown, Ala., and Micheal Lamar Gorum of Columbus were united in marriage at Gilbertown Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, with the Rev. Paul Matthews officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Blount Roberts of Gilbertown, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lamar Gorum of Columbus.
Nuptial music was provided by Leslie Pritchard Simmons, pianist; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Owen, soloists.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Her gown featured a scoop neck with beaded shoulder straps. The bodice was covered in iridescent bugle beads and seed pearls. The A-line skirt and train was made of silk organza with embroidered floral design and trimmed with two rows of satin ribbon. Her veil of tulle fell from a beaded comb. She carried a bouquet of long stem peach and white roses accented with small purple flowers and babies breath.
Matron of honor was Misty Abston McCay of Meridian. Bridesmaids were Kelli Ann Scruggs, Allison Kate Dahlberg of Gilbertown, Ashley Tindle Nelson of Toxey, Melanie Baker Walton of Florence and Carla Leanne Phillips of Meridian.
Flower girl was Erin Elizabeth Laurent of Thiboux, La.
Best man was Russell Kyle Clark of Olive Branch. Groomsmen were Larry Dapo of Fredericksburg, Va., Matthew Jason Furnari, Jonathan Brian Logan, Joseph Donald Henson, cousin of the bridegroom, and Bryan Daniel Cross, all of Columbus.
Ushers were Brad Sigrest of Centreville, Robert Bruce Dahlberg and Bryant Eddie Abston of Gilbertown. Ring bearer was Garrett Bartlett Graham of Gilbertown.
Attending the bridal register at the wedding was Tracy Casey Roberts, cousin of the bride.
The parents of the bride hosted an outdoor reception at the home of Mike and Teresa Thorn, with Amy Massengal of Memphis, Tenn., providing harp music.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Columbus.
