Trojans stomp Bulldogs

Northeast Lauderdale exploded offensively and scored 91 points to beat visiting Enterprise 91-49 in boys basketball action on Friday night.
In earlier action the homestanding Northeast Lady Trojans defeated the Lady Bulldogs 57-30.
The Northeast boys got 23 points from Dekenno Winston and 22 from Jamall Martin to lead the offensive attack.
The Trojans used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to take the early lead. Northeast held a 16-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Northeast came out in the second quarter and outscored Enterprise 25-13. The Trojans opened the quarter with a 10-0 run. A three-pointer by Martin gave Northeast an 18-point lead at 26-8. Enterprise finally broke the streak with 6:13 left in the quarter when Mitchell Burns hit a field goal.
The Trojan offense was not done and started a 9-2 run when Deltric Portis hit a three. Sanchez Clayton finished off the run just under two minutes later when he scored with 2:19 left in the half.
Enterprise was able to go on a 7-3 run to close out the half and go into the locker room trailing 41-21.
Northeast didn't cool off during halftime as the Trojans came out and scored 29 points in the third quarter.
The Trojans went on a 9-2 run in the first four minutes of the third quarter. Then after an Enterprise basket, Northeast got five points by Winston and a basket from Will Matlock to make the score 62-27. The Trojans held a 70-37 lead at the end of the third quarter.
The Trojans continued to pour on the points in the fourth quarter as the bench got in on the scoring. Northeast outscored Enterprise 13-2 in the first half of the final quarter. The Trojans scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to make the final score 91-49.
Cory Boggan got 21 points in a losing effort for Enterprise and Don Moore had seven. The Bulldogs will play at Lake on Monday.
The Trojans improved to 9-2 on the year. They will play West Lauderdale on Tuesday night.

The Lady Trojans got 18 points from Shaquita Bell and nine from Quinn Jackson to beat the visiting Lady Bulldogs, 57-30.
Northeast outscored Enterprise by 13 points in each of the first and second quarters to take a 36-10 lead into half.
The Lady Trojans went on a 15-2 run in the third quarter to give them a 52-16 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Enterprise came out in the final quarter and scored 14 points and held Northeast to only five to make the final score 57-30.
Teela McBride scored 14 points for the Lady Bulldogs. The win makes Northeast's record 5-8 on the year.
