Lamar still undefeated

Lamar School's boys soccer team increased its record to 4-0 on the season with a 6-0 trashing of visiting Trinity Episcopal School of Natchez last night at Grey Cobb Field.
The Raiders would score early and often in the game.
Sophomore Drew Moffett received an assist from freshman Scott Owen only two minutes into the game. Moffett's kick would be true, putting the host team up 1-0.
The Raiders would go on to score another goal less than two minutes later. Nick Lisi would kick the second goal in for Lamar, making the score 2-0.
With six minutes remaining in the half Owen would kick the third goal for the Raiders, while two minutes later Moffett made it 4-0.
Lamar would continue to dominate the second half defensively and offensively Trinity would be held scoreless in the first half of play.
Lamar came out very strong in the second half. Jay Grantham kicked the fifth goal for the Raiders with less than 15 minutes being played in the half. Grantham's score would not be the last for the Raiders. Seventh grader Paul Williams scored the sixth and final goal of the game.
The Raider defense would continue to be to strong, making the final score 6-0.
The next scheduled match for Lamar is a Jan. 4 road trip to Covenant Christina. The next home match for the Raiders is Jan. 10 when they play host to Chamberlain-Hunt Academy of Port Gibson.
