Kemper County takes win over South Leake

Kemper County posted five players in double figures, including 15 points from Kendrick Benamon and 14 from Marques Mays to take a convincing 80-54 win over South Leake High School on Friday night.
The win pushed KCHS to 9-2 on the season, while South Leake, which got 15 points from Rosco Luckett, fell to 8-4.
Carthage boys 70
Southeast Lauderdale 64
Ben Reed pumped in 35 points for the Southeast Lauderdale Tigers, but it wasn't enough as Carthage took a 70-64 win.
LaPatrick Carlisle scored 12 for Southeast, while Robert Kelly hit for 25 to lead Carthage and Brian Nichols scored 17.
Wayne County girls 64
Brandon 34
Natalie Jordan scored 17 and Nicole Jordan added 11 to lead the Lady War Eagles to the 64-34 win over Brandon. Wayne County is now 12-1 on the season.
Leake girls 58
Presbyterian Christian 50
The Rebelettes of Leake Academy took an important district win over Presbyterian Christian on Friday night, taking the 58-50 victory behind the 22 points of Laurin Powers and 14 from Kristen Caldwell.
Meredith Campbell led Presbyterian Christian, 14-2, with 18 points. Leake is now 11-2.
Newton boys 78
Clarkdale 47
Bobby Lindsey pumped in 24 points and Coshune Bingham added 11 to push 4-3 Newton High School past Clarkdale 78-47.
Rocky Kirksey scored 14 points to lead the Bulldogs.
Louisville boys 56
Winona 25
The Wildcats used 14 points from Ryan Hudson and 12 from Andre Coleman to take the lopsided win over Winona.
Louisville is now 10-3 on the season.
South Leake girls 70
Kemper County 58
Monique Overstreet scored 27 points and Tierra Young added 18 to push 10-2 South Leake to the win over Kemper County.
KCHS got 18 points fro Monique Moseley and 14 from Tamician Davis.
Union girls 60
Thomastown 57
LaSaundra Harrison scored 13 points and Marley Smith got 12 to held Union edge Thomastown 60-57.
Ozzie McMurtry scored 14 for 2-10 Thomastown.
Nanih Waiya boys 81
Sturgis 47
Brent Blackwell poured in 34 points to lead Nanih Waiya to the convincing win over Sturgis on Friday night.
David Frey added 18 points for the winners, while Robert Jones scored 22 for Sturgis.
Winston boys 59
University Christian 54
Winston took the five-point win over the tough Flames thanks to the 22 points from Caleb Metts and Johnathan Stevens hit for 13 points.
Winston moved to 7-1 on the year, while University Christian fell to 9-2.

Dietrick Slater scored 20 points and Kacey Wilson hit for 18 as the War Eagles of coach Geary Jackson moved to 8-1 on the season with the 32-point win over Brandon.

Dee Forrest scored 20 points as Louisville took the three-point win over Winona on Friday night.
Laquenshia Houston scored 14 points for the Lady Wildcats, who are now 10-6 on the season.

Tonya Jordan scored 14 points and Twila Clayton added 10 to lead the 8-1 Lady Tigers past Clarkdale 54-46.
Danielle Gaddis led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points.

Chris Hall scored 17 points to lead 5-7 Kosciusko to the win. Jonathan Hunter scored 14 points to lead the Tigers of Noxapater.

The Rebels moved to 10-1 on the season behind 22 points from Joshua Chamblee, 12 from Luke Culpepper and 11 from Allen Byrd.
Presbyterian Christian fell to 9-4 on the year, despite 16 points from Ben Morgan.

Kimyatta Vivrette scored 20 and Kim Cox notched 17 to power the Lady Hornets past Scott Central, 63-46.
Kattie Nickson hit for 15 and Brittney Burks scored 14 for 11-4 Scott Central.
Kosciusko girls 58

Krystie Hunter scored 19 and Stephanie Blankenship picked up 10 points for Noxapater, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Tigers dropped a 58-43 decision to the Lady Whippets.
