Northeast takes two wins over Clarkdale

The Northeast Lauderdale boys upped their record to 6-3 on the season with a 90-54 win over host Clarkdale Tuesday night. In the girls game , Northeast slipped past Clarkdale 46-44.

Clarkdale came out in the first period led by Brandon Mabry who scored eight points to lead his team in scoring in the first period. The Bulldogs also received a big effort in the middle from Rocky Kirksey scoring seven in the paint. The Bulldogs out scored the Trojans 21-16 in the first period.
Clarkdale's Bryant Gaddis would open the second period of play with a three-pointer. In the second period the Bulldogs would increase their lead 32-20. This lead would not last long. Northeast would take the Bulldogs on a 15-0 run. Trojan Deltric Portis would score eight straight points. The Trojans would lead at the half 44-39.
Northeast would come out to the third period on fire scoring nine points with less than two minutes being played in the third period. The Bulldogs would get out scored 23-11. Trojan Stephen Dyess had a very strong period with four points and a dunk. The Trojans would Increase their lead 67-50.
Bulldogs would only manage to score four points in the last period of play. The Trojans would come out shooting in the fourth period. Northeast scored twelve unanswered points.

Clarkdale 44
Northeast would outscore the Lady Bulldogs 8-0 in the first three minutes of play. Quin Jackson would lead the Lady Trojans in scoring for the period with eight points. Northeast would lead at the end of the first period 16-8.
Lady Bulldog Danielle Gaddis would score eight points in the second period as well. Making the Northeast lead 29-23. Bulldog Felicia Kirsksey would nail three three pointers in the third period. Northeast would not give host Clarkdale and inch. Trojan Quin Jackson would score nine in the period making the score 41-32 Northeast.
Clarkdale's Felicia Kirksey would score four points for the Bulldogs in the forth period. Northeast would hold strong for the remaining minutes of the game. The lady Trojans would up their record to 5-6 with a 44-46 win.
