Wayne Academy rallies past South Choctaw

Wayne Academy rallied to beat South Choctaw, Ala., Academy on Friday night in Waynesboro.
The Jaguars, now 4-2, trailed 37-35 heading into the fourth quarter. There, Wayne outscored SCA 17-12 in the final quarter to take the 52-49 victory.
Barrett Tynes led Wayne Academy with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Steven Wood added 11 points.
South Choctaw was paced by Dusty Johnson with 12 points and Rob Dahlberg had 11.
The two teams were tied at 14-all after one quarter. Wayne held a 27-26 lead at halftime.
Leake Academy Girls 65
Macon Central 47
Leake Academy got 24 points from Kristin Caldwell and 15 from Greggina Tadlock to turn back Macon Central on Friday night.
B.J. Helton added 14 points.
Macon Central, who falls to 7-13, received 21 points from Leslie Hancock.
Patrician Girls 65
Jackson, Ala. Academy 27
The Patrician Academy girls routed Jackson Academy in Butler, Ala., on Friday night 65-27.
Patrician moves to 7-2 on the season while Jackson falls to 3-3.
Kirby Baxter led Patrician with 18 points while Chasity Etheridges chipped in 14. Britt Morris passed out 15 assists.
Patrician Boys 52
Jackson, Ala. 30
The Patrician Boys ripped Jackson Academy 52-30 on Friday night in Butler, Ala.
The win improves Patrician to 8-3 on the season.
Hunter Campbell led Patrician with 22 points. Joe Grass added nine points.
Nanih Waiya Girls 64
Ethel Girls 53
The Lady Warriors of Nanih Waiya defeated Ethel 64-53 on Friday night.
The win moves Nanih Waiya to 15-7 on the season.
The Lady Warriors led 16-14 after one quarter. It was 30-30 at the half. Nanih Waiya used a 19-12 fourth quarter to ease out to the nine-point win.
Courtnee Graham paced the Lady Warriors with a game high 27 points while Ashley Pugh added 21.
Nanih Waiya will host Noxapater on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Kemper County Boys 74
West Lowndes 61
Kemper County took a 74-61 win over West Lowndes in the B.L. Moor Tournament on Thursday night.
The Rams used a 21-12 third quarter to extend a 29-24 halftime lead to 50-36 lead after three quarters.
Marques Mays led the Rams with 16 points. Kenny Boyd had 14 while Ronterrian Dale chipped in 12.
West Lowndes was paced by Chancie Phillips with 24.
West Lowndes Girls 62
Kemper County Girls 58
West Lowndes knocked out Kemper County in the B.L. Moor Tournament on Thursday.
West Lowndes led 34-25 at the half and then held off the Lady Rams in the second half. It was 48-42 after three quarters.
Tomicina Davis paced Kemper with 21 points and Monique Mosley had 12. Heather Benson led West Lowndes with 19 and Tia Anthony chipped in 14.
