PHILADELPHIA When Philadelphia head basketball coach Keith Robinson seeks leadership, he looks to Tellas Burnside.
Burnside is a senior at Philadelphia High School, were he has played three years of high school basketball.
Burnside isn't sure where he wants to go to college yet, but he knows what he plans to study.
Burnside is averaging 15 points per game for the Tornadoes, and he posted 22 for Philly in a 74-64 dogfight against cross-town rival Neshoba Central recently.
After the 10-point win over the Rockets, Burnside felt a bit relieved. "It feels great to get revenge," he said.
The athletic guard has one major dream in life. "I just want to make it to the big league," Burnside said with a smile.
Burnside wants to trade his Philadelphia Tornado jersey for that of another Philadelphia team. "I want to play with the 76'ers, and Alan Iverson," Burnside said.
Even though the Philadelphia standout wants to play for the 76'ers, like many other basketball players, his role model is Michael Jordan.
As for now, Burnside will remain in a Philadelphia uniform, and no, Larry Brown will not be coaching. Keith Robinson will remain in charge.
As for coach Robinson, Burnside has built a lot of respect for him over his years of playing under him.
When Burnside thinks of his coach, he can only think of him in one way.
