Investigation nabs 18 drug arrests in Clarke County

QUITMAN Clarke County Sheriff's deputies could arrest more people on drug charges after a six-month investigation that already has nabbed 18 people.
Kemp praised the East Mississippi Drug Task Force, his deputies and numerous undercover agents for their hard work.
The sheriff said his deputies worked hard on the case, passing "information to the task force. They filtered through it and acted on it."
Keeping illegal drug traffic in check is the first step to crime control, Kemp noted.
The arrests began Tuesday afternoon. Those arrested were processed and bond was set Wednesday afternoon. The bond amount was not available.
Those charged are as follows:
Charlie Mathis, Pachuta, sale of marijuana.
Evett Irving Jr., Stonewall, possession of cocaine.
William E. Todd, Vossburg, sale of marijuana, three counts.
Patrick T. Banks, Waynesboro, possession of cocaine.
Angela Peters, Basic City, sale of crystal methamphetamine.
Wayne Peters, Basic City, sale of crystal methamphetamine.
Jonathan Sanders, Stonewall, sale of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church, two counts.
Jerry Prestage, Quitman, sale of crack cocaine, two counts.
Sherry Morris, Quitman, possession of Lortab with intent to sell, possession of Xanax with intent to sell.
Lamar Moss, Stonewall, sale of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church, two counts.
Cornell Jefferson, Pachuta, sale of crack cocaine.
Shawn Follis, delivery of cocaine, conspiracy to sell cocaine.
William McGruder, sale of crack cocaine, two counts.
Charles Pebbles, Quitman, possession of cocaine.
Rod Sewart Mitchell, Quitman, sale of crack cocaine.
Willie Frank Evertt, Quitman, possession of cocaine.
Dexter Thomas, Clarke County, conspiracy to sell crack cocaine.
Thorone Horne, Heidelberg, possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
