Richard Martin had always thought it would be fun to start his own collectors show. Fifteen years ago, his dream became reality.
Martin now serves as show chairman of Quality Collectors based in Hardy, Ark. The company will set up for a three-day show beginning today at Bonita Lakes Mall.
Martin and his wife, Gean, travel the entire year staging about 40 shows around the Southeast, including Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee and Missouri.
The show will include coins, stamps, currency, comic cooks, baseball cards, movie posters, movie and sports memorabilia and Beanie Babies.
Quality Collectors Shows also offers customers a chance to get on a mailing list and a Web site that Martin says as helped the business.
The company has compiled quite a mailing list over the years and now with e-mail its can reach even more customers.
Martin is expecting a large crowd for the show at Bonita Lakes Mall. "We always have a pretty good show in Meridian and always look forward it to."
