NEL Trojans beat Bay Springs

The Northeast Lauderdale Trojans received 25 points from DeKinno Winston and 18 from Jamall Martin to beat Bay Springs 71-59 in non-divisional action on Tuesday night in Bay Springs.
The win improves Northeast to 20-4 on the season. Bay Springs slips to 11-11.
Marcus Betts added 17 for the Trojans. Bay Springs was led by standout recruit Jason Forte's 23 points. Kevin Weeden had 18.
Northeast trailed until the third quarter. Bay Springs led 14-11 after one quarter and 27-23 at the half.
The Trojans came back outscoring the Bulldogs 23-16 in the third quarter to go up 46-43. They added 25 in the fourth quarter.
Northeast will host Florence on Friday.
Clarkdale girls 64
Noxapater 49
The Lady Bulldogs outscored Noxapater 18-9 in the third quarter to stretch its five-point halftime lead to 44-30 at the end of three quarters on the way to the 15-point home win on Tuesday night.
Danielle Gaddis scored 18 points to lead Clarkdale, while Tamara Brown had 15 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Felicia Kirksey scored 15 points for the 8-15 Lady Bulldogs.
Deidre Triplett led Noxapater with 20 points, while Stephanie Blankenship hit for 13.
Clarkdale visits Williams-Sullivan on Friday night, while Noxapater visits Durant.
Lake girls 64
Sebastopol 43
The Lady Hornets outscored visiting Sebastopol 22-5 in the second quarter and 13-9 in the second on the way to the 64-43 win.
Kim Cox scored eight of her game-high 20 points in the second quarter, while April Viverette came off the bench to score five.
Lake is now 18-3 overall and 8-0 in division play, while Sebastopol tumbles to 11-14 on the season.
Latoya Hunt tossed in 13 points for Lake. The Lady Hornets host Scott Central on Friday.
East Rankin girls 40
Lamar 31
The homestanding Lady Patriots outscored Lamar 17-8 in the last quarter to take the nine-point win.
Emily Massey scored 17 points to lead East Rankin, while Crystal Sessoms scored 11. Erin Ready led Lamar with eight points, while April Rodgers scored seven.
Bay Springs Girls 54
Northeast Girls 49
The Bay Springs girls took a 54-49 home win from Northeast on Tuesday.
The loss drops Northeast to 13-11 on the season.
Kristy Martin led Bay Springs with 19 points. Qualia Payton had 10.
Quinn Jackson paced Northeast with 17 points and Shaquita Bell had 12. Crystal Hopson added 11.
Ethel Girls 63
Nanih Waiya 59
Nanih Waiya fell to Ethel 63-59 in prep basketball action on Tuesday night. The loss drops the Lady Warriors to 16-10 on the season.
Courtney Graham led Nanih Waiya with 17 points. Ethel was paced by Moncia Potts with 23.
South Leake girls 76
Scott Central 66
Monique Overstreet scored 29 points and Brandy Earnest tossed in 19 to lead the Lady Wildcats to the 10-point win.
South Leake led 24-16 after one quarter and 46-30 at the half.
Britney Burks scored 30 points to lead Scott Central, while Kattie Nickson hit for 16.
Scott Central pays a visit to Lake on Friday night.
East Rankin boys 50
Lamar 38
The homestanding East Rankin boys took a 12-point win over Lamar School.
David Haggard led Lamar with 23 points, while Quinton Brown hit for eight. Lamar plays host to Central Academy on Friday.
