Chick-fil-A operator Tracy Roper was named "Manager of the Year" at Bonita Lakes Mall, shopping center officials said Tuesday at the annual retailer's meeting.
Mall manager Bryan LeBlanc said the shopping center's annual meeting is a time for retailers "to celebrate the success of last year while looking towards 2002."
LeBlanc said that Bonita Lakes Mall managed to achieve a sales increase for the year even though 2001 was one of the most turbulent years for retail sales.
White said plans for 2002 include bringing more events to the mall as well as increasing the number of sales events.
Among other retailers receiving awards at the annual meeting were Shane Snowden from Electronics Boutique, who was named Outstanding Manager for the fourth quarter 2001.
His store also picked up the 2001 award for highest sales per square foot for stores ranging from 1,001 to 2,500 square feet.
Cingular Wireless received the award for highest sales per square foot for stores up to 1,000 square foot. The award for highest sales per square foot for stores over 2,500 square feet went to Gap.
Underground received the award for most improved store in 2001 for sales per square foot, while Express received the award for the store with the most improved sales volume.
