Forest girls take win over rival Morton, 53-47

The Lady Bearcats knocked off rival Morton in Friday's 6-3A game at Morton. Forest, 14-10, got 16 points from Ebone'e Leverette and 11 each from Pharen Nelson and Photasha Derrick.
Morton, 11-12, got 14 points from Tyneisha McDonald and 13 from Rachel Jenkins.
Morton led 26-23 at halftime, but was outscored by Forest 30-21 in the second half.
Louisville girls 68
Aberdeen 33
The Lady Wildcats outscored Aberdeen in all four quarters of Friday's Division 2-4A win at Louisville. Dee Forrest scored 37 points to lead Louisville, 17-12. Kim Mullins added 12 points.
Aberdeen was led by Amber Gardner with 12 points.
Bay Springs girls 53
Taylorsville 42
A 22-9 advantage in the second quarter propelled the Lady Bulldogs to Friday's Division 7-2A win at Taylorsville.
Bay Springs improved to 14-13 overall and 4-1 in 7-2A. The Lady Bulldogs got nine points each from Kristi Martin and Kaila Moncrief.
Latrelle Mathis led Taylorsville with 19 points.
Hattiesburg girls 59
Heidelberg 42
The Lady Oilers trailed 28-14 at halftime in dropping Friday's game at Hattiesburg.
Heidelberg got 15 points from Jessica Yates, eight from Princess Bender, and seven from Catina Fowler.
Hattiesburg, 16-11, got 21 points from Yolanda Hartfield and 20 from Sandra Stovall.
East Rankin girls 51
Heidelberg Acad. 45
East Rankin led 48-21 through three quarters before Heidelberg erupted for a 24-3 advantage in the fourth quarter in Friday's game at Pelahatchie.
Heidelberg got 15 points from Ashley McInnis and 13 from Suzanne Lightsey. ERA, 18-8, got 16 points from Emily Massey and 12 from Amy Cole.
Hattiesburg boys 73
Heidelberg 69
The Oilers came up four points short in Friday's game at Hattiesburg as they dropped to 21-6.
Heidelberg got 23 points from Fred Stephens and 17 from Jesse Jones.
Hattiesburg, 26-5, had five players in double figures with James Hollingsworth's 15 points leading the way.
East Rankin boys 66
Heidelberg Acad. 41
East Rankin outscored the Rebels in all four quarters of Friday's game at Pelahatchie.
Heidelberg, 22-6, got 23 points from Blake Bass, nine from Jonathan Cranford, and six from Lloyd Windham.
ERA, 9-13, got 23 points from Steven Boozer and 17 from Curtis Weldon. The Patriots led 31-24 at halftime.
Leake girls 78
East Holmes 35
Leake closed out its regular season Friday with a 43-point blowout win. The Rebelettes took a 53-9 lead into halftime as they improved to 29-5.
Jessie Lavender led Leake with 16 points. Greggina Tadlock scored 10, Ashley Fleming and Lauren Powers both had nine, Kristin Caldwell and Jessica Dickens both scored eight, and B.J. Helton added seven.
Morgan Bishop led East Holmes with 10 points.
Simpson Academy 82
Central boys 39
The Vikings fell to 1-24 with Friday's loss at Mendenhall. A 27-4 Simpson advantage at the end of the first quarter settled the outcome.
Central got 16 points from Ross Brown and nine from Craig Giesbrecht.
Simpson, 9-15, got 23 points from Neal Stevens and 18 from Justin Britt.
Leake boys 95
East Holmes 52
The Rebels closed out their regular season with the 43-point blowout Friday at Madden.
Leake led 53-23 at halftime. The Rebels got 12 points from Justin Chancellor, 10 apiece from Trey Langston, Jay Allen, and Luke Culpepper, eight from Joshua Chamblee, and seven from Jay Gulley.
East Holmes got 17 points from Matt Engle and 16 from Daniel Drake.
