The marriage of Aubrey Chee Drinkard and Kevin Lee McElroy was solemnized Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Liberty Baptist Church in Thomasville. The 4 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. B. Nordan.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Drinkard of Thomasville. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Danny McElroy of Cuba, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Walker of Epes.
Nuptial music was provided by Deborah Truelove, pianist; and Richard "Tiny" Drinkard and Allison Mott, soloists.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal-length gown of white satin and silk organza. The fitted bodice was embellished with seed pearls, beading, sequins on re-embroidered lace. The full skirt was banded with the same enhancements. Her veil of illusion fell to cathedral-length. She carried a bouquet of mixed white flowers with crystals scattered throughout and her brother's and sisters' baby rings all tied with organza ribbon.
The bride's sisters Jamie Drinkard and Abbie Drinkard served as maids of honor. Other attendants were Lynn Walker of Charleston, S.C., Suzanne Pugh, Mandy Smith and Tara Wilson, all of Thomasville.
Flower girl was Laura Casey Higgenbotham of Jackson.
John McIlwain of Jackson served as best man. Groomsmen were Alex McElroy of Cuba, Jerry Dwain Drinkard of Thomasville, Lee Watkins of Livingston, Marty Walker of Charleston and Robert Beard of York.
Ushers were Josh Smith of Thomasville and Jerry McHan of Cuba. Ring bearer was Landen McElroy of Cuba.
Taylor Smith of Thomasville and Amy McHan of Cuba registered the guests.
The parents of the bride hosted a reception at Pineview Country Club in Thomasville. Music was provided by the SOS Band. Servers were Tasha Pearson, Jaysa Coffield, Holly Hardin and Heather Piant, Julie Hardin and Martha Hardin.
Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Epes.
