Services for Henry Edward "Buddy" Marcum Jr. will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richie Davis officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Marcum, 62, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Fontenot of Panama City, Fla.; sons, Michael Marcum of Meridian and Richard Marcum of the Zero Community; his mother, Althea Marcum; a sister, Barbara Stokes; grandchildren, Kristi Fontenot, Joshua Fontenot, Dustin Marcum and Bryan Marcum.
He was preceded in death by his father, H.E. Marcum Sr.; and a sister, Billie Jean Renfrow.
FLOYD ROBERT GODWIN
Retired pipeline construction worker
NEWTON Services for Floyd Robert Godwin will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Frank Harmon and J.B. Costilow officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Godwin, 81, of Newton, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Bedford Care Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Moore Godwin of Newton; a daughter, Gina G. Brand and her husband, John, of Hickory; a son, Charles F. Godwin and his wife, Betty, of Newton; three grandchildren, Adam Godwin and Ali Godwin, both of Newton and Rachel Brand of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd L. and Frankie Cornett Godwin; a brother, Charlie R. Godwin; and three sisters, Polly Butler, Tommie Godwin and Ada Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Donald Godwin, Bobby Butler, Floyd Butler, Toby Butler, Randy Godwin and Mark Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Duane Reeves and James Alderman.
Visitation will be held today from 8 a.m. until service time.
CECIL M. MELTON
Retired from Mississippi Power Company
Services for Cecil M. Melton will be held today at 2 p.m. at Chunky Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Campbell and Larry Melton officiating. Burial will be in Elim Cemetery in Quitman with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Melton, 81, of Chunky, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. He was employed with Mississippi Power Company for 32 years. Mr. Melton was a member of Chunky Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, member of Battery "C" 947th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a motor transportation NCO 014 in New Guinea, South Philippines, Luzon. He received the Philippines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medals and World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Melton of Chunky; three daughters, Glenda Stewart and her husband, Carson, of Chunky, Faith McGee and her husband, Lowery, of Hickory, and Robin Price of Chunky; a sister, Jessie Mae Crosby and her husband, Frank, of Enterprise; a brother, Lawrence Melton and his wife, Linda, of Louisiana; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Melton.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class.
L.C. BURRAGE
Services for L.C. Burrage will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Parker officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in DeKalb.
Mr. Burrage, 81, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be held today from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
HARDY R. JENKINS
Retired U.S. postal carrier
Services for Hardy R. Jenkins will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins, 79, of Meridian, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Riley Hospital. A retired U.S. postal mail carrier, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and was in the U.S. Army Reserve for 34 years having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Claudine Jenkins; two daughters, Janice Jenkins and Susan Cole; a son, Robert Jenkins and his wife, Cathy; and a brother, Clarence Jenkins, all of Meridian; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Biscardi, Lori Crutcher, Michael Cole and his wife, Rachael, Susanne Cole, April Arkuszeski and her husband, Billy, Donald Jenkins and his wife, Brandy, Ronnie Jenkins and Kevin Harry Cox; six great-grandchildren, Zackery and Jacob Biscardi, Haley Forman, Anthony and Timothy Cole and Brandon Arkuszeski; two step grandsons, Ron and Jason Reid; a brother-in-law, Don Hicks, and his wife Mary Lou; several nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend, Ralph Goodson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Donald Jenkins and an infant daughter, Alice Lucille Jenkins.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Goodson, Frank Evans, Rusty Bonner, David Bonner, Frank Jenkins and Milton Jenkins.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

YORK, Ala. Services for Harden H. Baldwin will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hebron Methodist Church in Aliceville with the Rev. Joe Whitt officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Baldwin, 86, formerly of Aliceville, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Survivors include two sons, Edwin Baldwin of Tampa, Fla. and Robert Baldwin of York; two daughters, Mary Johnson of Americus, Ga. and Cynthia Mosley of Aliceville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
LEO THOMAS
Retired truck driver
Services for Leo Thomas will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Enterprise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas, 78, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Meridian.
Survivors include three sons, Tyrone Thomas of Dallas, Leo Thomas of Chicago and William Charles Thomas of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Willie Lee Thomas of Meridian; a sister, Lillie Mae Thomas Grant of Meridian; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherry Thomas.
Visitation will be held Monday at the funeral home.
