Southeast downs Newton County

The Southeast Lauderdale tigers picked up a 7-3 win over the Newton County Cougars Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers scored one run in the first inning, one in the third inning, three in the fifth, and two in the sixth inning.
Newton County scored one run in the second, sixth and seventh innings.
Josh Avant lead the way for the Cougars with three hits. Mylan Anderson and Jared Cavenaugh had doubles for the Cougars.
Jay Butler had a two-run home run in the fifth inning for the Tigers. Brandon Ezell suffered the loss, while Jeff Linton picked up the win.
Meridian 6
Hattiesburg 2
The Meridian Wildcats advanced to 8-4 on the season with a 6-2 win over Hattiesburg. No other details were reported.
Enterprise 7
Taylorsville 4
The Enterprise Bulldogs picked up their second win of the season by knocking off Taylorsville Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs scored one run in the first inning, four in the third, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth.
The Tartars scored all four runs in the seventh inning.
Wade Weathers picked up the win for Enterprise. He allowed four hits and he fanned eight.
Bryan McNeil went 2-for-4, while Anthony Rawson went 2-for- 3 for Bulldogs.
Central Academy 11
Hebron Christian 7
Von Gomel paced Central Academy past Hebron Academy Tuesday afternoon, with a 11-7 victory.
Central Academy had five hits and five errors, while Hebron had six hits and six errors.
Central Academy will travel to play Leake Academy Saturday afternoon.

Union 2
The Newton County Lady Cougars picked up their sixth win of the season by knocking off Union 6-2.
The Lady Cougars had six hits and one error, while Union had five hits and three errors.
Lauren Barrett picked up the win, and advanced to 3-0 on the season. Marley Smith suffered the loss.
Krissi Harris and Dominique Mapp had triples for the Lady Cougars, while Holly Jackson had a double.
Lauren Kennedy had two hits, and Madison Brantley had a double.
