MSA ready for state championship

The Meridian Swim Association will have 17 swimmers participating in the Mississippi State Short Course Championship which will be held in Laurel today through Monday.
In order for the swimmers to make the trip to Laurel, they had to have a "B" qualifying time.
Last Saturday, the 8 and under Division competition took place. Meridian had four swimmers to compete in the event.
Eryn Kuchenrither was the teams biggest surprise, as she finished second in the seven year old 50 back with a 52.87 time.
Alanna Hall finished 14th in the eight year old 50 back and 100 free styles. Mia Hall earned a fifth place spot in the 25 back, and 10th in the 25 free style. Hall is five years old, she competed in the 6 and under Division.
Shane Trebisky finished fifth in the 50 breast stoke with a personal best 36.42. He also finished eighth in the 25 back, and ninth in the 25 free style and 50 back.
