YORK, Ala. Services for John V. Brown will be held today at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Brown, 66, of York, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, in Meridian.
Survivors include his brothers, Jack Brown of Meridian, John Brown of York, Gaston Brown of Long Beach, David Brown of Quitman and Joe Brown of Marion; sisters, Quida Marcum of Meridian, Martha Radcliffe of Mobile, Ala., and Mary Hicks of York; and several nieces and nephews.

BUTLER, Ala. Graveside services for Lee Ola Pendergrass will be held today at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in York. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Pendergrass, 97, of Butler, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Allen of Jachin and Betty Wright of York; and a brother, Frank Pendergrass of Baker, La.

DEKALB Services for Elder Ed Manning will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Anderson Temple Church of Christ in Meridian with Elder George Murray officiating. Burial will be in Little Zion Cemetery in Stonewall with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Manning, 93, of Meridian, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Arlie Pierce will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Paul Cain and Buddy Covington officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Pierce, 76, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Fisher and Owannie McLemore, two sons, Eddie Pierce and Grady Pierce, a sister, Darthy Willingham, two brothers, Bobby Joe Cumberland and Sammy Lee Cumberland, all of Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for R. Samantha "Sam" Hoy will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edward O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Ms. Hoy, 61, of Marion, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Martin, a granddaughter, Briana Ross and a grandson, Matthew Logan all of Texas; five brothers, Robert Battles of Florida; Billy Vandiver of Kentucky; Ronnie Thompson of California; and Raymon Petitfils and Jimmy Hill, both of Mississippi; three sisters, Margie Crawford and Cathy Thompson, both of Miss.; and Susan Warren of Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Battles Jr.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Don Crawford, Cecil Crawford, Gary Crawford, James Battles, Robert Battles and Lashley Threatt. David Threatt will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Services for Emma Finley will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at New Cannan Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Finley, 64, of Meridian, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her step-mother, Henrietta McCoy of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Rose Mary Guinn and her husband, Alleggrie, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Barbara Elaine Finley of Meridian; three sons, Odell Finley and his wife, Ernie, Jerry Finley and Cecil Henderson and his wife, Linda, all of Meridian; four sisters, Laura McCoy of Cleveland, Ohio; Sally Minor and her husband, Avery, of South Bend, Ind.; Pamela Graham of Meridian; and Paula Roberts and her husband, Michael, of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Earnest Tims and his wife, Betty, of Chicago, Ill.; and Nathaniel Willis of Akron, Ohio.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
