Lady Wildcats escape Enterprise Lady Bulldogs with late rally

The Meridian Lady Wildcats improved to 3-4 with a 7-6 win over Enterprise Tuesday at Northeast Park.
Enterprise led 6-1 going into the bottom of the seventh before Meridian struck for six runs.
The Lady Wildcats finished with seven hits.
Stephanie Mosley had a single and a double, while Artesia Boyd had a pair of singles.
Erin Murphy added a double.
Murphy (3-3) was the winning pitcher.
Enterprise fell to 5-6. Brittany Speed had two of the Lady Bulldogs' three hits with Amanda Parker adding a double.
Parker (4-1) took the loss.
Meridian's next game is Thursday against Northeast Lauderdale, while Enterprise travels to Stringer on Thursday.
Newton County 17
Choctaw Central 0
Newton County crushed Choctaw Central in Division 5-3A action. The win upped the Lady Cougars' league record to 1-0 and their overall mark to 11-2.
Krissi Harris had a pair of singles in Newton County's eight hits. The Lady Cougars did not commit an error.
Suzanne Chaney (2-0) got the win, allowing only one hit.
Jenna Tubby took the loss. The Lady Warriors committed five errors.
Newton County returns to action Thursday at Carthage.
Clarkdale 11
Stringer 0
Emily Howard struck out 14 and tossed her second no-hitter of the season to lead the Lady Bulldogs past the Lady Red Devils at Clarkdale in Division 5-1A/2Aplay.
Next up for Clarkdale is a Thursday division contest at Newton.
