The West Lauderdale Knights got back on the winning trail Saturday afternoon, with a 12-1 win over Clarkdale.
The inexperienced Bulldogs dropped to 3-9 on the year, but Clarkdale coach Scott Gibson is looking for a turn around.
Trent Posey went the distance for the Knights to record the win. Brandon Mabry suffered the loss for the bulldogs.
In the first inning, Posey left the park for a solo home run to make the score 1-0 West.
In the second inning, the Knights got three runs on three hits to make the score 4-0.
In the third inning, Van Wilson had a lead-off single for the Knights, and one pitch later he was on second base. Wilson later scored on a Bulldog error. Bo Davis also scored on a Clarkdale error to make the score 6-0.
In the fourth inning, the Bulldogs got a run to make the score 6-1.
The Knights added two more runs , when Randy Divley singled to right field, and Ike Munn reached on an error. Both Dively and Munn scored to make it 8-1.
In the fifth and final inning, C.J. Fountain was issued a walk, then Jamie Fontain singled to center field, but it turned into a triple due to a Bulldog error. Dively had a sacrifice fly to score Fontain. Munn followed with a single, and Posey drove him in with a single to right field. Posey later scored on an error to finalize the decision 12-1.
The Bulldogs had three hits and six errors, compared to nine hits and one error for West Lauderdale.
Munn led the Knights at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Posey followed with 2-for-3 with a single, home run, and two RBIs. Fontain and Fountain both added doubles.
Both teams played afternoon games, with Clarkdale traveling to Lake, and West hosting Northeast.
