QUITMAN Services for John Robert Jones will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jake Williams and Ray Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lauderdale County.
Mr. Jones, 65, of Meridian, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital. He was a school counselor at Meridian High for several years and a retired New Orleans police officer.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Jones, sons, George Phillip Jones and Robert Steven Jones, a daughter, Rhonda Talley and her husband, David, all of Clarkdale; and two grandchildren, Chris Jones and his wife, Angie, of Flowood and April Talley of Clarkdale.
Visitation will be today 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Marie Favata Land will be held Wednesday at 10 am. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Austin Conry officiating. Burial will be in New Lusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Land, 87, of Gilbertown, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Willie G. Land of Gilbertown; a son, Raymond Favata of Springlake, N.J.; a daughter, Katherine Hubert of Pittsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Graveside services for Rosetta Sills will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Robertson officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sills, 91, of DeKalb, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, in DeKalb.
Survivors include two daughters, June E. Mitchell and her husband, John, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Dorothy Robertson of DeKalb; sons, Bill Sills of Aurora, Colo., and Charles Sills and his wife, Elizabeth, of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Bea Hammonds and Juanita Arnolds; a brother, Boyd Austin; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Sills; brothers, Charles and Medith Austin; and sisters, Naomi Callahan, Edith Collier and Eula Vaught.
Pallbearers will be Mark Robertson, Bob Bohanon, Brian Taylor, Joel Robertson, Robby Robertson and Steven Robertson.
Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in DeKalb.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Philip Henry Beatty will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Garry Williams and John Brown officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Beatty, 83, of Butler, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Claire Beatty and a son, David Raymond Beatty, both of Butler; and a daughter, Lora Jean Holstege of Millersville, Md.
Visitation will be Wednesday 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
