Graveside services for Irene Pierce Clayton were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Clayton Family Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Horel officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Clayton, 87, of Meridian, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was employed with Clayton Electrical Co. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Meridian, the National Federation of Women's Clubs, Merrehope Foundation and the Meridian Little Theatre.
Survivors include two daughters, Anyce Fox of Carrollton, Ga., and Norma Chrysler of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a niece, Betty Flowers of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Harmon Clayton.

NEWTON Services for Dewain Shelby Jr. will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Walker and Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Dewain, 14, of Brandon, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his parents, Janet and Harold Dewain Shelby Sr. of Brandon; three brothers, Michael Reeves of Hattiesburg, Spencer Karges and Shane Shelby of Brandon; maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Reeves of Lena; paternal grandfather, Rhomus Shelby of Newton; paternal great-grandmother, Irene Hattaway of Newton; maternal great-grandmother, Trudy Jones of Forest; several uncles, aunts and a nephew.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
SAMUEL K. GRANADE
MILLRY, Ala. Graveside services for Samuel K. Granade will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Frankville Baptist Cemetery with the Revs. Randy Sheridan and Gary Patrick officiating. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Granade, 76, of Frankville, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Robbie E. Granade of Frankville; a son, Sammy Granade of Saraland; daughters, Elaine Goldman of St. Stephens and Connella L. Moseley of Bigbee; a sister, Maxine McElroy of Spanish Fort; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
BENNIE SMITH JR.
Construction worker
DEKALB Services for Bennie Smith Jr. will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at East Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Randall Bohannon officiating. Burial will be in Galilee Church Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 51, of Meridian, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Smith; three daughters, Beverly Smith, Jacqueline Hampton and her husband, Jermone, all of Meridian, and Lisa Nixon and her husband, Timothy, of Forest; sisters, Mary A. Burrage and her husband, John, of Meridian, Beatrice Brown of Toomsuba and Demetrius Smith of Meridian; a brother, Al Gene Hearn Jr. of Meridian; seven grandchildren, several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian.

Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Mamie Roberts, 74, of Flint, Mich., who died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in her home.

Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Edward Shanks of Clarke County who died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
