M.L., David and Mike Waters, brothers and partners in Waters International Trucks, Inc., are branching their dealership business out to Natchez.
The new branch will be temporarily housed at an existing building at 19 Feltus St., in Natchez, with plans to build a permanent location on 15 acres of land at the intersection of U.S. Highways 61/84 and 98.
Waters has signed a three-year lease for the temporary location, according to Ken Tillman, sales manager of the Meridian branch. The building is being remodeled by the owner.
The company plans to open the Natchez branch on May 1.
Ten new Waters employees will be hired immediately with another 10 to be hired after the permanent location is in operation.
The Natchez branch will include a mechanical shop, parts department and a product line of new and used heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks, as well as school buses and forestry equipment.
The company was started in 1938 in Columbus by Ray M. Waters, the late father of the owners. It has branches in Meridian, Columbus and Kosciusko.
