Change of command

Navy Cmdr. Charles Aley has taken command of Training Squadron 9 at NAS Meridian and we welcome him back to the Meridian area. In ceremonies late last week, Aley assumed command from Cmdr. Al St. Clair, who has been assigned as assistant air operations officers aboard the USS Constellation.
Needless to say, especially in this day and time, the military officers and personnel, civilian employees and all of their families are major contributors to the success of NAS Meridian as one of the nation's premier training facilities. NAS, in turn, is a major contributor to the quality of life in this area, not only economically but also in terms of involvement with the community.
While they may move fairly frequently to assume higher levels of authority as their careers develop, military officers always remain committed to the noble cause of national defense. Just as this community remains committed to the invaluable role of NAS Meridian in national defense.
